The Position: The School of Teacher Education is searching for a tenure track assistant or associate professor in Educational Psychology who uses educational psychological theories and methods to inform teacher education, preferably focusing on pedagogical content knowledge in one or more of the following areas: English/Language Arts, mathematics, science, social science, physical education, or visual and performing arts. Position starts August 2019.
Earned doctorate in Educational Psychology or a closely related field. Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered; however, the doctorate must be completed by August 1, 2019.
TK-12 classroom experience, including teaching diverse learners.
Expertise in the area of learning theory, motivation theory, assessment, and/or human development.
Commitment to equity and access in education for all learners.
Evidence of scholarship commensurate with academic experience and relative to rank.
Demonstrated potential for grant writing, research, and/or scholarly activity.
Expertise and/or scholarly interest in topics related to diversity and experience with supporting and promoting diversity in research, educational access and/or social justice.
Ability to contribute to a positive work environment in the department, college, and University
Ability to use educational psychological theories and methods to inform teacher education, focusing on pedagogical content knowledge in one or more of the following areas: mathematics, science, social science, English Language Arts and/or VAPA
Experience in teaching TK-8 and/or 7-12 methods, with an emphasis in meeting the needs of diverse learners.
Academic knowledge of teaching English Learners and culturally diverse populations.
Experience in higher education teaching and clinical supervision.
Expertise in delivering instruction using distance learning, online technologies, and learning management systems such as Blackboard.
Teaching license or credential (any state).
Tenure-track positions carry responsibilities in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service.
RANK AND SALARY
Appointment is for a 10–month assistant or associate professor with salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

With nationally recognized research accomplishments and diverse expertise, the STE is academic home to 18 tenured/tenure-track faculty and more than 70 adjunct faculty and lecturers.
