Under the general direction of the Superintendent, assists with the implementation, accountability, and monitoring of department duties to include but not limited to testing and assessments, academic intervention, ESSA, English language learners program compliance, and use of the electronic data management systems.
Distinguishing Characteristics Supervises Technology Services (ITS) and works cooperatively with other members of the management team in the formulation and implementation of district policies and long-term technology goals in support of the District's mission.
Essential Duties May Include:
Maintains communication and works in a collaborative manner with district administrators, principals, and directors to facilitate decision making and problem solving in the areas of computer and technology services.
Provides leadership and direction in technology planning, assessment programs, equipment acquisition, applications development, and the establishment of standards for hardware and software.
Coordinates the development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, policy priorities, standards, and procedures.
Coordinates the development, maintenance, and security of all data systems, including feasibility studies, systems analysis and design, computer programming, conversion of data, information storage and retrieval, and management data controls.
Oversees installation, maintenance, and support of facilities systems that utilize the data network, including phone, camera, clock, bell and paging systems.
Has the responsibility to support the preparation of state and federal reporting including E-RATE, CBEDS and CALPADS.
Oversees the administration of the Medical Administrative Activities (MAA) and Local Educational Agency Medi-Cal Billing reimbursement programs.
Facilitates communication and coordination among instructional staff for the purpose of meeting curriculum guidelines and ensuring that state mandates are achieved.
Assists schools with infrastructure design, acquisition and development.
Develops bid specifications and evaluates bid responses for computer/network hardware/peripherals for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or programs.
Schedules and chairs monthly district technology committee meetings and attends school site technology meetings.
Evaluates hardware and software to ensure suitability, compatibility, and economy prior to purchase and sets standards for technology use for students and instructional staff.
Coordinates the assessment of current and future technology requirements of the District.
Develops and manages a budget for the purpose of ensuring efficient program operations and complying with established fiscal guidelines.
Directs and maintains the District website.
Maintains software site licenses and supervises proper legal and software usage.
Attends instructional events and meetings with other district and site leaders.
Manages and implements technology grants and related budgets.
Plans, installs, configures, maintains and troubleshoots network hardware including cabling, servers, workstations network interface cards, hubs, tape backup units, managed switches and routers.
Supervises the Technology Services staff.
Coordinates with County Office of Education in technology matters.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Plan, organize, and coordinate a broad information technology and infrastructure management program from a school district;
Develop and implement procedures to optimize system efficiency and performance; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships;
Interpret and administer statutes, regulations, and policies concerned with the legal responsibilities of the school district;
Instruct, train, motivate, and supervise technology personnel;
Assimilate and evaluate data in order to prepare clear, comprehensive reports and make sound recommendations based on the reports;
Analyze problems and formulate logical conclusions; effectively manage multiple tasks and set priorities;
Operate a full-range of computer, peripheral equipment, communications equipment, and software programs properly and efficiently;
Provide technical assistance to district computer users with widely varying levels of expertise;
Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: bachelor's degree in a data systems related field and five years of management experience in the area of data storage, filtering, and reporting including communications products and other related data, project management of enterprise-wide software installation, support of assessment, reporting, and commitment products and data warehousing.

Valid California driver's license
Office environment; driving a vehicle to conduct work; constant interruptions.
Sitting for extended periods; hearing and speaking to communicate and exchange information; using the telephone for extended periods; sufficient vision to assure accuracy of reports and documents; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer terminal and office equipment; lifting light to medium weight objects; kneeling, bending at waist, and reaching to maintain and retrieve files.
