The Air Force Academy Athletic Corporation is looking for a Director of Development to perform the following functions:
The Director of Development will help grow support to the Falcon Pride Club, the fundraising arm of Air Force Athletics. This position will be responsible for driving donations and working as a key member of the Falcon Pride Club team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Increase philanthropic giving in the Falcon Pride Club through face to face visits, solicitations, and stewardship of new and existing donors/prospects. Solicit prospects and current donors as appropriate and qualify prospects to proactively cultivate for future gifts. Clearly and professionally articulate Air Force Athletics and Air Force Academy Athletic Corporation vison and fundraising priorities to external and internal stakeholders. Identify and maintain a portfolio of donors and prospects, exceed visit and solicitation goals. Responsible for at least 20 proposals of $10,000 and 10 proposals of $25,000 or more annually. Responsible for 25 visits each month. Oversee sports specific fundraising efforts for designated sports. Design and develop solicitation strategies with administrators and coaching staffs. Plans and conducts meetings, events and activities to recruit volunteers, builds relationships with alumni and donors. Maintains good-will with various constituent groups supporting the Falcon Pride Club and AFAAC. Assists with hospitality events, alumni reunions, banquets, parent’s weekend events and all other donor-centered events. Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in sport marketing, administration, management or a related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
Three or more years of related development experience in a Division I athletic development.
Team player that works cooperatively and collaboratively within a team.
Strong attention to detail, organizational, verbal, writing, customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays depending on work and game schedules.
Strong time management, ability to stay focused through interruptions, thrives in team environment, strong analytic and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Track record of exceeding goals.
Understands and upholds standards befitting the USAFA and Air Force Athletic Department.
Must be authorized to work in the US and successfully pass a background check.
