Full Time; Career Starting Salary Range: $80,000-$92,500/annually. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Involved in the development of server / OS / desktop / mobile applications and services including researching, designing, developing specifications for designing, writing, modifying, testing, debugging, troubleshooting and maintaining source code. Also having direct or related involvement in designing related databases, user interfaces, integration to other systems / applications, content or multimedia processes. Work includes analysis and design to post-production processes, quality assurance, maintenance and documentation.
Performs web application development via custom Drupal modules, including initial specification, design, implementation and maintenance / upgrades. Manages a robust web server environment that provides hosting for ~650 web sites. Provides end-user support for Drupal, including occasional classroom-setting group trainings to faculty, staff and student workers. Works with other divisions on the development and delivery of shared services.
Academic Divisional Computing is comprised of six regionally distributed teams, embedded in five academic divisions and the Silicon Valley Center. This structure recognizes that the intellectual diversity represented within our faculty is best served by services that are locally optimized and adaptive to changing needs. By standardizing on commonalities, we develop right-sized, right-priced IT services that enable growth in a resource-constrained environment. The outcome provides an aggregated description of local IT support and services that can be easily accessed by faculty and reviewed by decision-makers to inform shared investment in commonly understood requirements across the disciplines.
The position works closely with the BSOE Divisional Liaison / Computing Director to understand the division's web application and hosting requirements, and to plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery of software and services to meet those needs. Successful candidates will demonstrate both breadth and depth in expertise related to web development, web hosting and related technologies.
