This position is an RN responsible for staff education for Cook Children's Health Plan (CCHP). This RN will serve as a role model, change agent, and facilitator while assessing learning needs in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities. The Education Coordinator collaborates with leadership staff at CCHP to ensure that educational activities are congruent with the strategic goals of the health plan and promise of Cook Children's. This RN maintains exemplary professional interpersonal communication skills, collaborates well with teams, and demonstrates good customer relation skills. The Education Coordinator demonstrates sound clinical judgment and strong critical thinking abilities while striving to enhance member wellness through curriculum development and staff education.
Registered Nurse; minimum of three years clinical experience.
Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
Graduate degree in nursing, education or related field, or completion within 6 months of hire.
Two years utilization review, case management, or disease management in a managed care environment strongly preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Computer skills proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).
Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Texas, BSN, Master's degree.
Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.
