Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Workers' Compensation, the Wellness Coordinator is a member of the Office of Risk Services, and is responsible for the long range planning, development, implementation and coordination of the UCSC Faculty and Staff Wellness Program directed toward improving the health and well-being of all faculty and staff by decreasing health risks and workers' compensation injuries for high risk departments, and to promote a healthy workplace environment that supports healthy lifestyles and risk reduction.
The UCSC Office of Risk Services supports the campus by helping departments identify their risk exposures, recommending strategies to reduce or eliminate identified risks, and administering the campus's insurance programs to facilitate maximum recovery from accidental losses. Our mission is to encourage and support a safe, healthy, and thriving community.
Strong analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.
Substantial experience in worksite wellness, health promotion, wellness program management or health education.
Demonstrated skills associated with the development, delivery and evaluation of worksite wellness programs and services.
Demonstrated strong writing, speaking, and group presentation skills in order to present information in a clear and concise manner to multiple levels in the organization.
Demonstrated skills and proficiency in assessing employee health risks and providing educational guidance on health and wellness related topics (e.g.:nutrition, weight management, stress management, tobacco cessation, etc.).
Must possess a CPR and First Aid certification. Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
