Working under general supervision, incumbent independently performs and records all sonographic procedures in accordance with established departmental guidelines and protocols. Operates various types of ultrasound equipment, transducers, and recording devices. Recognizes normal and pathological conditions. Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established Ultrasound protocols to achieve the highest quality image. Trouble shoots and resolves ultrasound related PACS issues. Reviews, verifies and evaluates images to ensure excellent image quality. Participates in performance improvement projects within the ultrasound department. Performs other duties as assigned.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
Graduate of a school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date required.
Recent experience in a similar role and setting.
RDMS or registry eligible; if registry eligible, must obtain registry with ARDMS within 12 months of hire date.
Excellent communication skills.
Demonstrated computer skills.
Must possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
One (1) year of relevant experience.
CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
General and/or Vascular ultrasound experience.
Must be able to work various locations based on business needs.
Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and some overtime, as needed.
