The Pharmacy Tech III fills first doses and batch doses for both IV and UD medications, refills automated dispensing machines, delivers medications to nursing areas, problem solves medication distribution issues with nursing staff, and performs maintenance and inventory functions for automated dispensing machines. This position is 80% operations and 20% administrative.REQUIRED--Valid California Pharmacy Technician License--Proven leadership skills in current or past position--Knowledge of BOP Regulatory Requirements--Ability to assess staff competency in all areas of work--Must be familiar with regulatory requirements for USP<797> and USP<795>. --Must be able to prioritize workflow and complete job assignments independently --Must be able to stand for long periods of time which may include occasional, lifting, stooping and bending.--Must have working knowledge of entering detailed data into multiple computer systems including but not limited to, Electronic Medical Record, automated dispensing units. --Must know metric system.--Must be able to perform pharmacy calculations.--Must know pharmacy terminology.--Must know proper aseptic technique.--Experience of Sterile and Non Sterile Compounding.--Ability to push a cart carrying 200 pounds.PREFERRED--California Pharmacy Technician Certification --Recent inpatient pharmacy experience --Prior UCD Pharmacy experience --Knowledge of the Hospital, Department and University Policies and Procedures--Familiarity with hospital, HBC, PCN layout, names and location of patient care areasSPECIAL REQUIREMENT - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
