The TSM Administrator (Sys Adm 4) 'Tivoli Storage Manager / Spectrum Protect' provides administration and support for a large-scale advanced health system spanning different classification levels that currently supports 15,000+ users. The team works in a dynamic environment, on critical, high visibility technology platforms. The TSM Administrator will provide services in the area of backup and recovery as well as enterprise data storage management for the entire organization. Under direction, the TSM Administrator will function as a resource and expert in all data storage needs and complex architectures required by mission critical applications for the Health System.REQUIRED--Minimum 7 years' experience designing, implementing, and supporting SAN and NAS disk array solutions --Minimum 5 years' experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise scale backup systems--Expert understanding of RAID levels, LUNs (virtual and direct), file systems, NFS, CIFS, fibre channel; strengths and weaknesses of each and when one is more appropriate than the other.--Expert knowledge in design and administration of IBM Spectrum Protect I IBM TivoliStorage Manager--Extensive experience with NDMP, CIFS, NFS, deduplication and compression--Extensive knowledge of SAN and NAS constructs (LUNs, Aggregation, Volume I Filesystem, Replication, Snapshots, QTrees I Virtual Volumes)--Extensive knowledge of large database performance and storage integration--Strong knowledge on installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of NetApp, Hitachi storage systems, Brocade, Qlogic, and Cisco storage networking gear (Ethernet and fibre channel); understand the strengths and weaknesses of the broad spectrum of storage products available on the market.--Strong skills in unstructured data management in a NAS environment--Strong knowledge of data protection strategies and have the ability to design and implement such strategies.--Strong knowledge of the performance boundaries of physical disks (spinning and flash) and the measures taken by storage system vendors to compensate.PREFERRED--Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science --Industry certifications in storage and backup technologies (specifically Hitachi Data Systems, Network Appliance, and IBM Spectrum Protect/TSM).--Knowledge of tiers of data and technology to implement effective tiering policies --Knowledge of TCP/IP and related protocols--Knowledge of replication requirements for effective disaster recovery --Experience providing leadership, make recommendations, and collaborate with software developers, system and network engineers/administrators, and other support staff.--Experience coaching and mentoring of junior staff.--Ability to work well in a team environment, including virtual teams.--Strong written and verbal communication skills and is an active listener--Strong problem solving skills--Strong project management, time management, and customer service orientationSPECIAL REQUIREMENT--Must be able to work ext ra hours (nights and weekends) if important development is behind schedule or the correction of problems with operational systems is considered critical.
