The Grants and Financial Analyst (Financial Anl 3, grade 22) is responsible for pre- and post-award activities as well as financial management within Medical Education. The position will work with the Education Deans and Directors in the Office of Student and Resident Diversity (OSRD), undergraduate medical education (UME), graduate medical education (GME), the Center for a Diverse Healthcare Workforce, and the Body Donation Program. This individual is responsible for complete management of all grant applications from submission to term completion, managing an annual operating budget $50 million and $1 million in contracts and grants funds in conjunction with Assistant Dean, directors and managers.REQUIRED--Experience managing multiple funds involving different account procedures including analysis, reconciliation, projection, fiscal closing and grant preparation. --Demonstrated experience with grant preparation and submission requirements.--Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices, as well as University accounting/financial/grant policies and procedures.--Knowledge and experience in budget preparation with the ability to provide analysis and forecasting of complex budgets. --Knowledge of cost allocation methods.--Demonstrated advanced knowledge and expertise in use of Excel and experience with database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.--Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.--Experience analyzing problems, suggestion solutions, making independent decisions and initiating resolutions.--Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business management or related fields and/or equivalent education and training in grants and research management, accounting, economics and related business management.PREFERRED--Knowledge of University policies and procedures on purchasing, travel, entertainment, transfers of expense, invoicing and collections.
