Responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting the SAS reporting and analytics environment, and serving as a hands-on data modeler, data analyst, report developer. Function as a SAS programmer/administrator. Responsible for maintaining the SAS service environment across all layers of usage. Supports department and campus executive leadership with data analysis, often in matters of high sensitivity and urgency.
Complex and multifaceted analysis and validation of data. Develops, tests, and implements multi-dimensional data models, as well as other data warehouse customizations and ETL programming. Maintain and monitor SAS server health, monitor daily processing jobs, develop, test and implement database customization. Assists Analytics Analysts I & II in data modeling and BI development. Consults with campus leaders on their data and reporting needs and translates their requirements into warehouse transformation logic. Performs other duties assigned.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics or related discipline and 8+ years in SQL programming or the equivalent experience. In-depth knowledge of data mining, querying, and modeling in SQL and/or SAS data environments. Experience developing in at least one object-oriented programming language. Experience in ETL development and maintenance. 8+ year SQL (or SAS) programming and reporting experience in higher education data environment may substitute for education.
Ability to work well with people in all levels of the organization. Experience in a data analysis, data driven research and/or predictive analysis role is required. Ability to prepare and present reports and dashboards to diverse audiences is required. Displays attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel), SharePoint. Excellent organization, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication (verbal and written) skills. Ability to communicate and collaborate with people at all levels of the organization.
Master's degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science and/or 10+ years in programming-focused field in higher education where PeopleSoft Campus Solutions is the student information system using SAS data platforms for data analysis and modeling. Strong SAS programming and SQL skills. SAS Data Warehouse management and SAS data-modeling experience is a plus. Experience and/or certification in SAS Data Integration Studio, SAS Visual Analytics, Data Management Studio, SAS programming, SAS Enterprise Guide and Enterprise Miner. SAS Certification is a plus. Machine learning, R programming, predictive and /or statistical analytics, Java or Python knowledge are all a plus. Experience with ETL development and maintenance in SAS, database administration and development and maintenance.
