In order to be considered for this position, you must live within a 50 mile radius of the Dallas office.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Research, develop and document processes, workflows, and standards for new software and technology
Develop and maintain VDC project budgets and schedules
Advise project teams on the use of BIM and technology
Assist and support preconstruction team’s use of BIM for project pursuits, estimating and 4D planning
Train and support project team staff members and other RO employees
Measure and track successful use of technology on RO projects
Oversee custom programming/customization of software applications
Maintain knowledge of industry trends in design techniques and procedures
Attend, participate and present at industry events promoting BIM technology
Manage relationship with technology vendors and resellers
Cooperate with IT professionals to equip staff with proper hardware and software tools for projects
Educate partners and clients on technology and collaborative workflows
Participate in coordination/clash meetings on BIM projects
Coordinate VDC strategy with management and other department heads
An understanding of the overall construction process and the roles of each key player
An understanding of the duties of various departments within the company
The ability to manage and communicate well with others
70% office environment.
30% field environment (job site visits, etc.)
Ability to work under and handle stress in an appropriate manner required.
May be exposed to high, medium, or low noise intensity.
Constant contact with co-workers required.
This is a full time position. Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of the job.
1-2 out of town trips per month expected. (mostly day trips to Austin, San Antonio or Houston)
Architectural, Engineering, or Computer Science bachelor’s degree or higher
Possess a general knowledge and competency of computer hardware and software
Possess an expert level knowledge of key software applications (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, etc.)
Has a background or interest in programming (VB.net, C+, C#, etc.)
