SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role by assisting in the preparation of Tribal budgets and business forecasts including the projection of revenues, expenditures and Earnings Before Interest, Taxes and Amortization (EBITA). Prepare various regular and ad hoc analytical and statistical reports to support Tribal initiatives and provide such information to assist other Departments of the Government and LLC’s if necessary. Analyze records of past and present operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to project future revenues. Assist Chief Financial Officer on effective use of resources, modeling assumptions, underlying budget forecasts and management of financial services for the Tribe. Be knowledgeable of Corporate Finance and accounting standards. Reviews and analyzes Tewathahonni Corporation and subsidiary financial records and financial reports. The Senior Financial Analyst must be creative and enjoy working with a management environment that is mission-driven, results-driven and community oriented. The Senior Financial Analyst will have the ability to work independently on projects, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle activities and confidential matters with discretion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Tribal Council, Tribal Departments and LLC’s as applicable;
Receive and analyze quarterly reports of all Tewathahon:ni Corporation component units, to include gaming.
Assist the Chief Financial Officer in directing and analyzing studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on SRMT's policies and operations.
Prepare special studies, analyses and recommendations in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, statistical reports and business forecasts (modeling, quantitative and qualitative analysis).
Assist the Chief Financial Officer in appraising the organization's financial position and issue periodic reports on organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
Assist the Chief Financial Officer in the identification of all funding sources, management of cash liquidity for current and future obligations, long range forecasting of economic revenues, investments and other cost allocation plans.
Prepares financial impact statements on pending legislation; including, but not limited to, grant request motions and appropriation requests.
Assists in identifying community partnering opportunities for incremental revenue generation.
Assists the Chief Financial Officer in establishing and maintaining contacts within the SRMT Tribe, outside financial institutions, and the investment community.
Assist in research and development of new ideas, concepts or applications that would enhance financial and operational efficiency of existing programs and businesses.
Assist in the development of policies for receiving grants, donations or any other funding.
Assist Chief Financial Officer in procurement of financing when appropriate.
Assist the Chief Financial Officer with the development of spending priorities for the Tribal Administer and Tribal Council to consider and/or approve.
Assist the Chief Financial Officer in approving an Independent Auditor for the Tribe’s annual audit of Tribal accounts and receive, review and analyze all audits and audit findings of the organization, its component units and LLC’s.
Assist Chief Financial Officer in developing policies that meet acceptable auditing standards.
Fulfills responsibilities as defined by the Tribal Procedures Act, as applicable.
Maintains office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts and procurement of supplies and equipment;
Researches, prioritizes, and follows up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the Chief Financial Officer that may include both electronic and outreach to other offices, agencies or individuals including those of a sensitive or confidential nature;
Develop and maintain a comprehensive filing system and coordinate on-base records retrieval for the Chief Financial Officer;
Assist in the preparation of correspondence; both routine and confidential as directed;
Format Special Purpose Reports in MIP Abila Accounting Software
Prepare travel arrangements for the Chief Financial Officer;
Coordinate, and liaise with other Tribal Offices and business entities as directed in fulfilling special project and assignments including but not limited to: Banking Institutions, Tribal Council, Office of the Executive Director, Office of Legal Counsel, Office of Economic Development, Mohawk Gaming Enterprise LLC, Mohawk Networks LLC, Akwesasne TV LLC and other Te Wá Tha Hón:ni Corporation subsidiaries;
Utilize QuickBooks accounting software to perform accounting duties for the LLC’s as assigned by Tribal Council;
In the absence of the CFO, review and email Sole Source Justifications to the CFO for approval, that exceed the maximum amount.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Master’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance, accounting, economics or Math or a related field, and a minimum of two (2) years financial modeling experience; or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field and four (4) years financial modeling experience. Experience working with Tribal and/or commercial gaming enterprises preferred.
