Under the direction and supervision of the Dean of School of Nursing and Health Sciences, the Administrative Assistant will assist with the smooth running of the department. This involves administrative support: copies, faxing, internet support, and scheduling. This position also requires knowledge and experience working with Microsoft programs. The position will assist the nursing department staff and faculty with administrative support as assigned.
Essential Functions of Position:
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Provide general administrative assistance as well as nursing program support
Record minutes of faculty meetings
Proctor student examinations
Faxes documents to adjunct faculty as requested by the lead faculty
Maintain student files
Assist in monitoring the department Blackboard and course schedule
Assist in departmental projects as needed
High School diploma, some college or college degree preferred
At least 5 years of applicable administrative/clerical experience
Must be organized, responsible, punctual and polite. Must also be able to communicate effective and operate computer software to generate reports
