The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs delegated clinical and administrative duties within the supervising physician\u2019s scope of practice consistent with the CNA\u2019s education, training, and demonstrated competency. This includes taking and recording vital signs, preparing exam rooms, preparing instruments and scopes for sterilization, transporting items to the sterile processing department, and assist providers when instructed. The CNA recognizes and addresses age-appropriate needs when caring for patients. In addition, the CNA assists in maintaining the practice environment in a clean, orderly condition. Functions as an integral member of the Department by contributing to new ideas for improving customer service and reducing costs. The CNA will be flexible and able to float to all divisions in Otolaryngology when needed. Provides high quality customer service to both external and internal customers that meet or exceeds the service standards of the health care industry. This duty includes prompt and professional communication efforts, face-to-face customer contact skills, flexible coverage of internal service needs and the continuous application of process improvement methods and skills for office services.
