Position Summary: The Interim Director of the Idaho Geological Survey under the direction of the Vice-President for Research and Economic Development serves as the chief operating officer for the Survey, responsible for overseeing the activities of furthering the role of the Survey across the State in accordance with governing statutes. The position may be located in either the Boise or Moscow offices of the Survey. This position will require some in-state travel. The Interim Director reports to the Vice-President for Research and Economic Development. The term appointment will be half-time and end upon the employment of a Permanent Director.
Demonstrated experience in collaborative research programs associated with the earth sciences Previous formal or informal organizational or project leadership experience including personnel management Commitment to a team culture approach Demonstrated outstanding written and verbal communication skills
An advanced degree in the earth sciences Familiarity or employment with the Idaho Geological Survey Qualified to be a registered professional geologist in the State of Idaho Demonstrated commitment to collegial management and collaborative decision-making
