This position is within the Center for Statistical Consulting in the Department of Statistics in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences. The Center serves clients from across campus (including the School of Medicine, social sciences, physical sciences, engineering, and biological/health sciences) and businesses in the Orange County area. It provides support for statistical/biostatistical collaborative research, methodology research, and education. Under the direction of the Center's Director, the incumbent will conceptualize, plan, design, develop and implement statistical models for data analysis. Additionally, he or she will be involved in interpreting, summarizing and communicating results in writing and presenting results in research meetings, consultation, and collaborative research. The position may require designing and teaching short courses on the practice of statistics to diverse audiences. A successful candidate will be familiar with frequentist and Bayesian inference, and can implement a variety of statistical methods (including, but not limited to, survival analysis, generalized linear models, mixed effects models, and machine learning algorithms) for analysis of laboratory studies, clinical trials, and population-based studies. The incumbent is responsible for managing multiple collaborative research projects and associated deadlines.

Salary: Range $4,968.58 - $6,755.83 Total Hours: 8-5, M-F Career Position. Final candidate subject to background check.
