Non-Tenured Position in Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep Medicine and Physiology. The Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu) at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body.
The Department is initiating a search for an academic researcher for a non-tenured position in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep Medicine and Physiology. The appointment will primarily be in the Physiology Section. The Division is internationally recognized for its research and patient care.
The position will focus on research into quantitative functional imaging of the lung using MRI. Successful applicants will benefit from and complement the existing strengths of the Department in studies of respiratory system diseases.
Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent and documented experience in research. Candidates must also have existing research experience in pulmonary physiology, or in the use of MRI imaging, with relevant experience in image and data processing. Candidates must have an excellent record of research productivity, extramural grant funding and demonstrate the ability to develop a rigorous research program. US citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
MATLAB experience is highly desirable.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
