Under the direction of the Education, Training, & Outreach Manager, the Provider and Community Specialist/School Coordinator is responsible for the promotion and monitoring immunization compliance with the California immunization laws for schools, childcare, licensed family day care, private and public schools.
The Provider and Community Specialist/School Coordinator uses the results of a compliance rate assessment to assist in planning comprehensive educational interventions addressing best practices in school settings. By developing relationships with key stakeholders in the school and childcare communities and obtaining expert knowledge on school and childcare immunization laws, the coordinator promotes educational opportunities for school and childcare staff.
This position also provides training to San Diego Immunization Registry (SDIR) users at school setting and develops marketing strategies to continually recruit schools and childcare facilities to utilize SDIR.
A Bachelor's Degree in related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.
A minimum of two (2+) or more years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program.
Demonstrated knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triage related technology issues.
Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.
Demonstrated experience in project management of community based programs.
Proven experience establishing, working, and maintaining relationships with health plans, provider groups, professional associations and health care organizations.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners.
Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars/schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision.
Demonstrated experience providing direct professional education/training to physicians, nurses, allied health professionals and medical practice office staff.
Experience in developing relationships with key stakeholders in the pediatric immunization community. Demonstrated expert knowledge on vaccine reimbursement, pay for performance indicators.
