The Seiler laboratory at the Stem Cell Research Center, is seeking an organized and detail oriented individual for a Lab Assistant II position to perform retinal transplantation research activities under general supervision. The incumbent will perform OCT analysis of rat retina, histology, qPCR, management of breeding colonies, behavioral testing, and general lab maintenance. The individual must be able to work independently to troubleshoot protocols. Detailed reporting of the performed work must be provided to supervisors. Preferred experience with rodent OCT imaging and animal handling.Incumbent will independently carry out experiments planned in conjunction with supervisor that involve maintenance of transgenic rat breeding colonies and the functional and histological assessment of transplantation outcome.
