The Financial Accountant I, performs professional accounting tasks. Provides customer service and answers inquiries. Ensures compliance with system, state and local rules and regulations. Audits Travel Expense Reports, Direct Bills, and Travel Advances. Employee must be able to able to work until 5pm M-F.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in accounting or related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to work cooperatively, familiarity and comfort level with various types of software, ability to provide high level of professional customer service, ability to learn quickly and apply learned concepts to real-world scenarios.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Accounting experience in a business office.
Serves as a backup system administrator for certain functions within the Concur system with regards to errors, exception messages, and troubleshooting of problems. Evaluates and makes recommendations for changes to the system or procedures in order to accomplish tasks more efficiently.
Audits travel expenditures (out of pocket, travel card, and direct bill) for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Works with dept. business staff and travelers to resolve any out of policy spend. Evaluates and verifies potential duplicate payments and assists our departments with data analysis.
Provides front line customer service. Has a thorough understanding of travel rules and procedures, as well as how those rules and procedures are accommodated and translated into Concur.
Provides a certain level of technical knowledge and expertise is required to understand what Concur is doing in the background and effectively explain what's needed to customer. Cultivates positive relationships with customers through phone and email contacts. Performs other duties as assigned.
