Student Development Specialist II-Coordinator for Outdoor Pursuits

The Coordinator, Campus Recreation Outdoor Pursuits, under general supervision, administers Outdoor trip programs, outdoor equipment rental, administration of the climbing wall, plans and organizes summer camps for children, assists with The Tarleton Challenge and special events as needed.
25% Climbing Wall Responsibilities
Responsible for daily operations, of the CRC Climbing Wall. Create overall vision, development, execution, and assessment of the climbing wall. Plan, develop, and schedule climbing wall programming that will meet the diverse needs of the Tarleton community. Manage involvement and clinic participation, payment, registrations through Fusion. Work with colleagues and students on campus for new programs that are in line with institutional goals.
25% Outdoor Pursuits Center Responsibilities
Responsible for daily operations of the Outdoor Pursuits Rental Center. Create overall vision, development, execution, and assessment for the OP rental center making sure to keep up with new and emerging trends. Plan, develop, and schedule events that will highlight the OP rental program. Manage participation, payment, and rentals through Fusion. Work with colleagues and students on campus for new programs that are in line with institutional goals.
25% Outdoor Trips and Events Responsibilities
Responsible for operations of trips and events. Create overall vision, development, execution, and assessment for off campus trips. Plan, develop, and schedule trips and events that will meet the diverse needs of the Tarleton community. Manage involvement and clinic participation, payment, registrations through Fusion. Work with colleagues and students on campus for new programs that are in line with institutional goals.
15% Camp Responsibilities
Assist in the administration of all aspect of Rec Kids Summer Camp, including budget, policy development and enforcement, marketing, and risk management. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate all summer camp staff, including background checks for all employees. Work with the office of Risk Management to ensure that all guidelines are followed concerning the management, supervision and development of camps. Assist in creating new opportunities for the Campus Recreation department to host camps for the Stephenville and surrounding communities.
10% Other Department Responsibilities
This job description shall include, but is not limited to, the above duties. May temporarily perform other duties as assigned to maintain operations and services. Assist with planning and participate in Campus Recreationâ™s departmental events and activities. Some evening and weekend duties required.
Required Education and Experience: Bachelorâ™s degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience and two years of experience in student affairs work or related specialty.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Oral and written communication skills.
