The Department of Political Science at Texas A&M University recruiting for one non-tenure track position for the 2018-2019 academic year to teach at the Higher Education Center at McAllen, located in McAllen, TX. We seek to hire a lecturer to teach introductory, survey courses in American government. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to teach introductory undergraduate courses in American government at both the national and state and local level. Ability to also teach introductory level courses in economics would be highly valued. A completed Ph.D. is preferred; A.B.D. status would be acceptable. The target start date for this position September 1, 2018. The teaching load would be four to five courses total for the academic year. This would be for a nine month appointment in a non-tenure track position. This position has the possibility of being renewed on an annual basis depending on performance, funding, and university needs.
