The Research Grant Program Officer serves in a senior managerial capacity to coordinate the activities of teams of administrators, faculty and staff in the preparation of major grant proposals for collaborative, cross-disciplinary projects involving basic and translational biomedical research, research infrastructure and research training. The Research Grant Program Officer consults with groups of principal investigators, as assigned, to conceptualize and develop new research, research infrastructure and training initiatives. Additionally, the Research Grant Program Officer assumes a lead responsibility in grant writing and preparation, as well as coordinating the contributions of other participating faculty and staff.REQUIRED--Master's degree in Biology, Molecular Oncology, or related field and/or equivalent education/training.--Extensive years of experience preparing scientific grant proposals particularly to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and other organizations such as National Institutes of Health (NIH). --Advanced level scientific writing, editing, and proofreading experience. --Experience with NIH grants application procedures, formats, guidelines, and requirements. --Experience working with large amounts of complex technical information. --Experience producing accurate and persuasive text for presentations. --Experience conceptualizing and developing new research, research infrastructure, and training initiatives. --Budget and financial experience. --Experience developing budgets for grant applications and proposals. --Experience working with relevant computer/software system and applications, including MS Windows/Mac OS, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), web browser applications and e-mail applications. --Experience working with confidential materials and information. --Extensive investigative and organizational skills. --Experience working effectively work in a team situation and manage complex projects.
