The University of Washington Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time, temporary/hourly, SOCIAL WORKER to cover various medical services including med/surg, oncology, and potentially psychiatry and transplant. This position works variable days including weekdays and holidays, depending on need especially around the holidays and late Spring through Summer time. The position is subject to renewal annually.
Primary responsibilities include conducting assessments and assisting with planning for patients and their families needing discharge assistance, intervening in behavioral health crises, and supporting patients and families experiencing loss and grief. This position reports to the UWMC Social Work & Care Coordination department and is supervised by a licensed social worker.
*Hours for this position can total up to 36 hours/week with a maximum of 950 hours/year.

Social Worker 1 Requirements: A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council of Social Work Education and six months experience in a health care setting either as MSW practicum or work experience.
Legal Requirements: Registration as either an 1) Agency Affiliated Counselor, 2) Licensed Social Work Associate Advanced or 3) Licensed Social Work Associate Independent Clinical by the State of Washington within 90 days of employment.
