The College Recruitment Advisor, under direction, assists high school students to research, apply to and enroll in colleges that will serve them well.
These positions will be located state-wide in Texas.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelorâ™s degree from Texas A&M University, College Station. Must have graduated within the last five graduation cycles (May of the calendar year preceding start of employment or later), and must have completedALL graduation requirements prior to commencing work at assigned school (typically in late August).
No experience required.
Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:
Texas class âœCâ Drivers License â“ must have or be able to obtain license within 30 days of employment..

Must be literate in the English language and able to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions.
Perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment with good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to make decisions independently and, at times, with little to no direction. Self-directed, initiator, and problem-solver. Ability to work urgently on multiple tasks at once in a fast paced and results oriented environment. Work collaboratively and effectively with a number of teams and individuals to accomplish goals of the program. Ability to coordinate and attend events and meetings at times beyond usual working hours. Commitment to the success of students through the college application process.
Experience working with Admissions and/or Financial Aid.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Salary:$2,278.18/Month for the duration of the contract
Provides admissions and financial-aid advice to students or family seeking assistance. Encourages students to consider a broad range of college choices. Assists students develop a comprehensive college timeline, including application deadlines for admissions and financial aid. Helps students complete and submit admissions, scholarships, and financial aid applications. Assists students in interpreting correspondence from colleges, including offers of admission and financial aid
Organizes group events that encourage students and their families to consider, plan for, and apply to colleges and universities. Visits classrooms, assemblies, and club meetings to offer advisement services and emphasize the importance of postsecondary education. Visits feeder middle schools to encourage early planning for college. Works with local community groups to offer group events outside school setting and hours
Assists in the efforts of other advisers within the service area and in the assessment and long-term sustainability of the program. Visits other high schools in assigned service area during school days. Helps organize, provide support for, and attend evening and weekend events organized by other adviser(s). Assists the supervisor and staff to identify, collect, and interpret key progress and outcome variables to evaluate the effectiveness of the program. Attends meetings. Represents department to potential supporters and other interested parties.
Establishes working relationships with principals, counselors, and teachers. Assesses the particular needs of each school, and adapt programs and activities.
