The new Accounting Supervisor will have a considerable opportunity to leave a lasting impact upon the Hayward area. Reporting to the Administrative Services Director, the Supervisor is responsible for the daily activities and administration of the Division. The Supervisor is also responsible for the District's financial, accounting, purchasing, treasury activities and provides management and the Board of Directors with effective assistance in the areas of fiscal planning and control, accounting, budgeting, and investing public funds. The Accounting Supervisor would also provide highly responsible and complex administrative assistance to the General Manager and Administrative Services Director. This is an at-will position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: five years full-time increasingly responsible professional accounting, auditing, or budgeting experience gained in a public agency which included significant accounting/fiscal and supervisory duties and responsibilities.
Training: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or a closely related field. A Master's degree and a CPA is highly desired.
License: Possession of a valid California driver’s license by date of appointment.
Additional Salary Information: salary will increase by 2% effective 7/1/18
