The Clinical Applications Professional 4 is responsible for the coordination of technological requirements of the department and the development of workflow and infrastructure to support the information technology roadmap. This position collaborates and communicates with operational, clinical, and other information technology departments regarding existing and proposed information technology needs. The incumbent will assist clinical departments and information technology partners (IT leadership, clinical chairs and department staff) to support the department's clinical, research and administrative application environments. The incumbent also partners with project teams and departments to develop IT Evaluations, cash flow worksheets, requirements and project plans and will assist in the management of projects from design to deployment.REQUIRED - Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience / training.- Working knowledge of total computer environment including hardware, operating system software, and application software.- Strong documentation skills and proficiency in office automation software (word processing, spreadsheets, visual presentation such as MS Project, Visio, etc.).- In-depth knowledge of 1-2 specialty areas of focus in clinical applications. - Knowledge of operations, systems and functions, including planning, design, development, implementation, user support, training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation. - Demonstrated knowledge and experience with respect to technologies appropriate to the healthcare, research and education industry.- Ability to learn assigned applications and meet proficiency testing requirements, and to maintain certification in assigned applications.PREFERRED- Demonstrated experience leading information system projects in a healthcare environment. - Demonstrated knowledge of the total computer environment including hardware, operating system software and application software with respect to technologies in the healthcare industry. - Knowledge of data privacy procedures and regulations.- Advanced skills in documentation and reporting, with the ability to apply metrics, plan and implement testing systems, collect and analyze performance data, and produce substantive reports and analyses.- Advanced interpersonal communication skills to effectively train, support, and collaborate with clinical users and stakeholders at all professional and technical levels.
