Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, monitors video monitors for a patient care area, utilizing unit specific policies and procedures, for the prevention of patient falls and maintenance of patient safety.
Required Education : High School Diploma or GED
Requirements : No license or certification needed
Skills and Abilities:
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Adds and deletes identified high-risk fall patients on monitors. Monitors video monitors to prevent patient falls and to maintain patient safety.
Calls fall alerts, utilizing nurse call system to promote patient and staff safety.
Maintains equipment and troubleshoots issues. Reports equipment malfunctions to appropriate staff. Communicates with charge nurse regarding issues of patient safety.
