Provides Inpatient Liver Transplant services to patients, reviews chart, performs history and physical examinations, orders diagnostic tests, reviews results, and reports to the Physician as needed. Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership and patient care management across the health care continuum from preventative and acute care through discharge in addition to outpatient management. The NP serves as a patient advocate throughout the care process, and represents the medical center at regional and national meetings/conferences.
Qualification Requirements/Preferences: Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements: Master or Nursing Degree Required License/Certification/Registration Requirements: Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License. National Certification by respective accredited professional nursing organization such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Current NP Furnishing License/DEA from the State of California. Current BLS/ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association. Experience: Full command (verbal and written) of the English language. Minimum of 2 (two) years acute hospital experience. ICU experience preferred. Prefer Liver Transplant and/or Transplant experience. Physical Demands: (e.g. lifting, standing, walking)
