Full Time 40 hours Grade 052 Patient Accounts Responsibilities Position Summary: The Information Analyst 2 is responsible for completing the Medical Center portion of the Universityâ™s bank reconciliation, prepares, analyzes and distributes reports to Senior Management, supports the Data Control Group, and completes special projects as assigned (focused on developing new processes, resolving problems, reporting unique situations and incidents, and improving department operations). Responsibilities: Under general direction of the Manager, Payment Posting and Reconciliation and with latitude for independent judgment: Coordinate activities of URMC and University departments including Patient Accounting, Hospital Finance, University Finance, URMFG and the Cashiers Office to resolve URMC cash reconciliation issues in a timely manner. Review, analyze and make corrections to confirm completeness and accuracy of data; work independently, communicate with department managers at the Medical Center to educate them about the accounting procedures that should be followed and to resolve both individual and systemic problems that occur. Use professional judgment to determine whether account balances are reasonable; examine accounting documents to verify that transactions are properly supported in accordance with University policy and procedures; initiate corrective action or recommend solutions as appropriate; prepare routine and non-routine working papers, exhibits and summarize supporting findings and recommendations. Recommend improvements and changes in policies and procedures for preparing entries into the accounting system. Prepare, distribute and summarize information in reports required by Finance and PFS leadership such as the impact of changes recommended by the PFS Revenue Team. Develop reports of HPA information for the external auditors, Finance Department for projects such as ICR completion, audits (i.e. HCRA, Compliance, DSH). Complete special projects as assigned. These projects include communicating with administrators in other departments, serving on Medical Center established teams, Develop and execute strategic plans to facilitate program development and process improvement. Assume responsibilities for the timely completion of duties and projects, including resolving problematic situations. Analyze situation/incidents, prepare and deliver oral briefings to communicate to management regarding recommendations and conclusions. Serve on teams in the development and implementation of new systems and processes. Identify, present and implement new ways to improve operations both in functional areas within PAO as well as in other Hospital departments. Cross train and provide coverage for other positions as needed: for preparing and distributing daily and end of month reports, for posting remittances, running Cold and for registering for sign on codes. Support the Manager of Payment Posting and Reconciliation area by providing management oversight in the area in the managerâ™s absence; ensures that the balancing cash procedures are completed and performs quality assurance on the work. Serve as a liaison with Cashiers and nurse managers/staff/and department managers at the Medical Center. Plan and conduct training on operational and systems procedures for the department. Conduct competency reviews and oversee the completion of exercises to demonstrate staff knowledge. Requirements: Bachelorâ™s degree in Accounting or related field 1-2 years of professional accounting experience (3 yearsâ™ experience preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
