California State University San Marcos seeks a CARE Manager for Student Affairs. Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean of Students, the CARE Manager will be a primary point of contact and support for students of concern referred through the Cougar Care Network, the university's Early Support Initiative. The CARE Manager will manage the ongoing development, implementation, and assessment of the Cougar Care Network. The CARE Manager will provide non-clinical case management services to students by providing them with information, resources, and support to ensure their personal and academic success. The CARE Manager will consult with faculty, staff, community resources and students to develop interventions designed to address the concerns unique to each situation. The CARE Manager will serve a primary role on the university's CARE (Campus Assessment, Response, and Education) Team whose collaborative mission is to conduct violence prevention, threat assessment, and crisis intervention. The CARE Manager will develop and implement trainings to inform the campus community about university resources and protocols when serving students managing various challenges.

Minimum Qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in social work, student affairs, higher education, counseling or a closely related field plus four years of crisis management experience working with college students or a similar population with similar needs.
Master's degree or Doctorate in Social Work may be substituted for one year of the professional experience
License Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) approved by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)
Work experience in an academic setting, ideally Public Higher Education.
Salary and Position Status
Full-time position with benefits
Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected. This position is an Administrator I in the Management Personnel Plan (MPP). MPP positions serve at the pleasure of the President.
