This position provides a wide range of clinical services to the Emergency Department, ICU's, pediatric, perinatal and adult patient care areas, as assigned. The hours will vary, as 24/7 services is provided in the Emergency Department. The primary responsibilities will be directed within the Emergency Department. The department manager and /or supervisor have total responsibility for work assigned, evaluation, corrective action, promotion and dismissal.--Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the California Board of Behavioral Science. --Master's Degree from an Accredited School of Social Work. --Skills, knowledge and ability performing psychiatric and psychosocial assessments on pediatric/adult/geriatric populations. --Knowledge of suicidal behavior, the ability to assess lethality, and the ability to develop appropriate treatment plan. --Knowledge of legal requirements and guidelines for providing psychiatric services including the appropriate use of 5l50. --Knowledge of and ability to effectively use current DSM manual. --Knowledge of and ability to perform mental status exams. --Experience within a Trauma/Emergency department. --Experience within an acute medical hospital, mental health setting and/or health care clinic. --Skills, knowledge and ability working with death/dying/bereavement issues. --Knowledge of child abuse, elder abuse, and domestic violence reporting requirements, and other significant legislation and laws regulating social work practice, e.g., Tarasoff, patient confidentiality, etc. Ability to make appropriate interventions based on law, professional ethics policy. --Knowledge and understanding of individual, child , and family development, human behavior and communication, the influence of culture and values in social work practice, psychotherapy, case management, and the relationship between social work practice and medicine. --Knowledge of community resources. --Knowledge of organ and tissue donation protocol as outlined within the UCDHS Policy and Procedure Manual. --Skills, knowledge and ability to support the policies and procedures of the Department of Clinical Social Services and U.C. Davis. Health System. --Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills.
