Primary responsibility of these positions is to serve as attending on the Hematology/Oncology inpatient service at the UC Davis Medical Center. The incumbent will also provide supervision and teaching of Internal Medicine house staff. Patient care will be closely coordinated with hematology oncology fellows and faculty. This is a unique opportunity for internists or oncologists with interest in hospital-based medicine with a sub-specialty focus.-- Possess MD degree-- Possess a California Medical License-- Board-Eligible in Internal Medicine-- Candidate must complete Boards successfully within 2 years of employment.-- Skills required include the ability to manage the care of medical patients with complex conditions and broad range of illnesses, function effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team, effective teaching skills to serve as an effective teacher when dealing with learners and to effectively transition patients from an inpatient setting back to their outpatient care setting-- Knowledge required includes completion of an accredited internal medicine training program and a good understanding of the common diseases that clinical physicians deal with on a daily basis-- Experienced with and have a good understanding of the health care systems in which they work and how to manage their patients' care needs
