USMD serves the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area with more than 250 physicians and associate practitioners, and provides healthcare services to patients in more than 20 different specialties at its 2 hospitals, 4 cancer treatment centers and nearly 50 physician clinics, many of which are multi-specialty. The RN Coordinator is a member of the care delivery team. The RN Coordinator is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The RN Coordinator has responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of nursing care. The RN Coordinator manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members. The role of the RN Coordinator encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration and supervision. The RN Coordinator establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The RN Coordinator demonstrates a commitment to the community and to the nursing profession. Primary Responsibilities:Provides appropriate updates, instructions and patient education information to patient and family Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans Modify patients' nursing care plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information as observed by peers and management Attends all mandatory education programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance Attends all required department-specific education and training programs and can describe his / her responsibilities related to department safety and specific job related hazards Perform other duties as assigned Collaborates with other departments to create systems and problem issues that impact departmental / organizational goals and/or patient care delivery Must have flexibility to work either an 8, 10 or 12 - hour shift.
Required Qualifications: Associates or Bachelor's degree in Nursing Current unrestricted RN licensure in the state of Texas 5+ years of Emergency Room/Urgent Care experience 2+ years of Charge RN or supervisory experience BLS, ACLS and PALS (ER Only) Preferred Qualifications:3+ years of ER Clinical Supervisory experience ENPC and TNCC are preferred for ER Careers with USMD.
