The Sr. Recruiter, Physician Services is responsible for sourcing, recruiting and on-boarding physicians for the UC San Diego Health Clinical Practice Organization (CPO). Position serves as a subject matter expert to senior leadership by recommending and implementing physician recruitment strategies. Position will monitor industry trends within the healthcare market to identify top recruits, forecast opportunities, and consult with candidates.
The Recruiter develops relationships with UCSD Health leaders as well as referral sources to determine organization needs and attract the best talent to fill their physician openings. The Recruiter is responsible for building a network of qualified candidates, evaluating skills in relation to the position requirements, negotiating compensation, and overseeing the completion of department onboarding requirements.
Position influences hiring departments to support adoption of consistent recruiting, interviewing and hiring practices that support a highly positive candidate experience.
A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field; or an equivalent of education and experience.
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in strategic Talent Acquisition role including recruitment, compensation negotiations and calculations.
Working knowledge of applicable human resources policies and procedures, labor contracts and employment law, including the Americans with Disabilities Act and affirmative action/equal employment opportunity.
Knowledge of interviewing and employee reference techniques and methodologies.
Experience using current social media for talent acquisition and ability to build and maintain vast network of professional relationships.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office, applicant tracking systems, and other talent acquisition software. Comfortable using and learning new technology.
Able to deliver consistent and high quality customer service and interact effectively with a diverse clientele while responding efficiently and with a sense of urgency to customer needs and requests.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing (grammar, spelling, editing, proofreading) and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences.
A self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction or supervision; who is open to new ideas; and a creative and flexible individual who is comfortable working in a large, complex organization.

Seven (7+) or more years of relevant Talent Acquisition experience.
PHR or SPHR certification.
Experience working in an unionized environment.
Experience recruiting within a large healthcare organization.
Substantial experience in direct physician recruitment highly preferred.
Expert knowledge of and demonstrated success executing physician sourcing and recruiting strategies.
Expert knowledge of employment laws, interview techniques, organizational recruitment processes and service delivery models.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
