The Senior Pharmacy Informaticist is the recognized system expert for medication processes across the health system. This clinically-proven professional would apply their seasoned hospital, infusion center, and ambulatory practice experiences to anticipate and mitigate medication concerns related to safety, efficiency, and finance. They would lead the highest impacting medication projects that are most critical to the health system's goals, applying project management concepts and in-depth analysis to guide decisions and strategies. The specialist would also provide novel, industry-leading patient care solutions through clinical decision support (CDS) design, applying cross-application integration, complex programming, and thorough testing to these industry-leading solutions. This resident expert on medication design, development, testing, and implementation would be responsible for knowledge-sharing and mentoring of new colleagues towards high standards of excellence.
This doctorally prepared and clinically-proven pharmacist informaticist would apply their seasoned hospital, infusion center, and ambulatory practice experience to anticipate and mitigate medication concerns related to safety, efficiency, and finance. They would apply this background to analyze stakeholder business needs and formulate strategies to achieve them. In addition, they would work with clinical and operational leadership to identify optimization opportunities. The senior pharmacy informaticist would liaise with specialty committees to provide authoritative informatics guidance to health care professionals.
This subject matter expert would develop novel patient care solutions through clinical decision support (CDS) designs. They would apply cross-application integration, complex programming, and thorough testing to these industry-leading solutions, which may be considered for presentation at national conventions. They would also perform in-depth analysis of large data sets to guide decisions and strategies.
The senior informaticist would apply project management concepts to coordinate technical efforts for medication-related implementations and optimizations. They would perform thorough scope analyses, develop timelines, and identify KPIs. They would also assist in the prioritization of team projects based on significance and available resources. In addition, they would recommend improvements and assist in the development of better processes and procedures for the Medication Process team and Information Services departments.
Registered Pharmacist in good standing - issued by the state of California (RPH).
Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D).
Minimum of three years clinical pharmacy experience in a health system or hospital setting.
Epic Certification: Willow Inpatient.
Epic Certification: Beacon or Oncology/Infusion Center practice experience
Project management / team lead experience.
Epic implementation experience for a large health system utilizing an Epic Connect model.
Significant design experience with clinical decision support and novel build in Epic.
Informatics residency/rotation preceptorship, or equivalent pharmacy teaching experience.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
