Supervises both licensed nurses and unlicensed support staff to ensure safe, effective and appropriate patient care is provided. Demonstrates leadership skills. Maintains and enforces established policies and procedures, standards of performance and productivity, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control and other regulatory requirements. Carries out administrative responsibilities and consults with and advises Perioperative Services Administration concerning administrative issues, needs and problems. Participates in the assessment of staffing needs and maintains guidelines for staffing to assure optimal nursing care in conjunction with Nurse Managers and Perioperative Services Administration.REQUIRED- Experience scrubbing and circulating a wide range of surgical procedures. - Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. - Possession of a current CA RN license. - Internal candidate: BSN required or in progress. External candidate: BSN required. PREFERRED- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or MSN in progress. - CNOR SPECIAL REQUIREMENT- Works overtime, floats to other areas within Main Operating Room.- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and meet departmental staffing needs. - Meet on call commitments. - Ability to lift 25 pounds, ability to pull/push 100 pounds. - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
