Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech) invites applications for two Admissions Counselor positions: one based at the Klamath Falls campus and one based at the Portland-Metro campus. These are 12-month full-time positions with benefits. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to represent Oregon Tech in the recruitment of new students to all Oregon Tech campuses (Klamath Falls, Portland-Metro, other satellite locations, and online) and presents information to groups and organizations about Oregon Tech. Representation of Oregon Tech is accomplished in a variety of settings and formats. The incumbent travels extensively to high schools, community colleges and careers fairs throughout the Pacific Northwest and other areas deemed necessary to present and represent Oregon Tech as an attractive college choice. The incumbent also visits with prospective students on campus on a one-on-one basis, in small and large groups, at campus events, on the phone, and through email.
The Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting prospective students for Oregon Tech at various events such as college fairs (national and regional), career days, OPU and individual school visits and counselor functions; and gives presentations on Oregon Tech and answer questions from prospective students and parents. The Counselor provides guidance on all options of college planning, and choosing a major; and provides information on the financial aid process, University environment, majors offered at Oregon Tech, what the Residence Hall has to offer, Oregon Tech sporting, intramural and club activities, local activities, admission criteria, transferring to Oregon Tech and more. The Counselor is also responsible for assisting with scheduling and developing on and off campus events related to admissions, recruitment, and registration of prospective students during and after hours.

Must have or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid driver’s license.
Willing and able to travel and work weekends/evenings.
Bilingual in Spanish.
Demonstrated experience working with non-traditional students or audiences.
Demonstrated experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
Experience working in education or with high school and community college age students.
Experience working with a multi-campus system, academic rules, policies and procedures, general education requirements, budgetary policies and procedures.
Knowledge of student recruitment, college admissions, and Oregon Tech.
Knowledge of admissions procedures, academic programs, financial aid and scholarships, and a broad base of knowledge regarding Oregon Tech.
