The Central Contra Costa Solid Waste Authority dba RecycleSmart is a local government joint powers authority located in Walnut Creek, whose member agencies include: The Towns of Danville and Moraga, and the Cities of Lafayette, Orinda, and Walnut Creek and the surrounding unincorporated Central Contra Costa County.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Finance Manager/Controller manages all human resource, information technology and finance functions, including financial reporting, short- and long-range economic forecasts and analysis, budgets, management of unfunded liabilities, revenue, cash flow, audits, investment management, and rate setting. As a key member of RecycleSmart’s senior management team, the new Finance Manager/Controller will bring exceptional leadership, proactive management and excellent communication skills to the organization.
The ideal candidate will be an individual that has both big picture vision and, at the same time, be able to establish credibility as a decisive, results-oriented, hands-on professional committed to excellence, independence, transparency, and fiscal accountability.
Candidates must possess: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college with major coursework in accounting, finance, business, or a related field; (5) five years of increasingly responsible experience in public financing and accounting; a working knowledge of the other functional areas is desired. Three years' experience must have been in management capacity. A Master’s degree and/or a CPA certificate is desired.
