The UWMC Public Safety department has an outstanding opportunity for a full time day/evening shift TRAFFIC GUIDE. The TRAFFIC GUIDE works within the UWMC Parking operation and provides excellent customer service to patients and visitors to the UWMC, following the established policies and procedures for the parking operation.
Accurately process parking transactions, provides accurate shift/cashier reports for audit, tracking and documentation in accordance with department polices and procedures.
Responds appropriately to questions offering solutions, and redirects customers & vehicle traffic to alternate parking locations for the medical center when necessary. Monitors & performs duties related to vehicular and pedestrian traffic flow control.
Demonstrates an understanding of operating the parking equipment and troubleshoots basic functions & repairs when necessary.
Maintains the presentation, service, & safety standards of the parking operations. Responds to emergent situations as according to department and medical center standards.
Manages workflow during scheduled work shift efficiently with UWMC related business and works independently without supervision.
Effectively prioritizes and adjusts workflow to meet the changing volumes and demands of the parking operation.
Accurately follows cash control & cash handling polices and procedures.
Actively participates in UWMC and department safety & service standards, polices and procedures.
Demonstrates an understanding of the Traffic Guide role during an emergency event and responds appropriately.
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively and understands the parking equipment intercom system.
Demonstrates and communicates with co-workers and customers regarding the UWMC parking operations service standards.
Demonstrates knowledge of department organization and ability to describe the roles of Traffic Guide, Valet Service, Traffic Guide Lead, and Parking Manager.
Demonstrates ability to maintain relationships with staff, customers, parking manager and UWMC Staff. Appropriately communicates problems, concerns, and work improvement suggestions to Traffic Guide Lead, or Parking Manager.
