Housing and Food Services (HFS) is pleased to announce an opening on our culinary team for a Lead Line Cook at By George's Mobile Dining Units (a.k.a. Food Trucks). We are seeking an experienced cook who can work on a team in a high-volume production kitchen to support our four food trucks (Hot Dawgs, Sunrise Griddle, Red Square BBQ and Motosurf), serving nearly 7,000 customers per day, five days per week.
You need to be organized in your work and speedy with your culinary skills. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. To qualify for the job, you must have at least one year of experience working in a high-volume production kitchen. You will also need to obtain your Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of being hired, and you will need to renew it when necessary in the future. In return for your hard work you will be a member of the University community where employees are respected, given opportunities to develop, are paid decent wages and receive benefits, including medical/dental, and retirement.
The right person for this job must pass a criminal background check and reference verification prior to hiring. Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) Union is also a must.
