Position Summary: The Events Specialist will be an intellectually curious, driven, critical thinker who will use his or her skills and background to creatively articulate, research, craft, develop, and execute small- to large-scale events locally, nationally, and internationally.
Working closely with leadership and colleagues in the Public Affairs division of UC's Office of the President, this person will have an array of responsibilities, from research and strategic thinking to developing and executing events across the UC system and/or with external partners. This position will ensure all event details are tracked, delegated, and executed by working with stakeholders on campuses, vendors, and staff at the systemwide office. In addition, the incumbent will keep in mind big-picture issues, initiatives, and themes and constantly search for and pitch event opportunities for UC administrative leadership, faculty, and students.
Your creative ideas regarding events as a tool to deepen brand awareness and advance key messages will support the broader team's communications efforts to raise awareness about the University and its impact on California, the nation, and the world. The incumbent will collaborate with colleagues from multiple and varied departments across the UC system to develop agendas and audiences, create collateral and the like to ensure consistent messaging and smooth execution by event planning teams, and function as the point of contact for all stakeholders and event participants/partners.
