The Rockefeller University seeks a Research Specialist to join Protein and Nucleic Acid Chemistry. Working closely with the PI and a small group of researchers within the lab, the Research Specialist will be an integral contributor to lab organization and management, perform experiments, and provide both technical and conceptual scientific input. An essential component is mammalian tissue culture and the generation of new cell lines using state-of-the art genome editing techniques. These techniques will be combined with live-cell imaging.
Bachelor's degree in science required; advanced degree and interest in structural biology or biochemistry strongly preferred. Educational emphasis in biology, biochemistry or a related field, as well as previous experience in mammalian tissue culture and genome editing, required. Must be highly detail-oriented and focused, inherently motivated, and able to work as part of a team as well as a mentored atmosphere for a research project.
We offer an excellent benefits package, tuition reimbursement and a competitive salary. The Rockefeller University is located on Manhattan's Upper East Side, on a 15-acre campus, along the East River (www.rockefeller.edu/views.php).
