Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (HS Clinical, Clinical X)- Cytopathology
The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego (http://pathology.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and seeks an academic pathologist in the Division of Anatomic Pathology. UCSD Health System is the only university-based medical facility in San Diego, providing advanced patient care and conducting innovative biomedical research. The Health System includes two university hospitals, an NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Shiley Eye Center, and the Sulpizio Family Cardiovascular Center.
Candidate must have an MD or MD/PhD and be board certified/board eligible in Anatomic Pathology and be qualified for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of California. Candidates must have a subspecialty training in cytopathology with additional interest and/or expertise in breast and gynecologic pathology. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of productivity in an academic setting including a publication record, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative research and clinical environment. There is an expectation for academic productivity.
Clinical duties will include sign-out responsibilities, general frozen section coverage, call duties, and presentation at tumor boards. Teaching activities will include participation in resident and fellow training in Anatomic Pathology, and medical student teaching.
Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels. Series will be determined by the successful candidate's skills and qualifications. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
