Primary Responsibilities: Research, evaluate, identify alternative approaches to support development needs Recommend, design and code efficient and effective solutions for challenging problems for medium to large work efforts of medium to high complexity Comply with standards and guidelines related to the design, construction, testing, and deployment activities within the Delivery Management environments Demonstrate collaborative skills working within a project team of diverse skills Bring strong communication skills including oral, written and presentation skills plus creativity, and problem solving skills to a challenging environment Act as a Project Development Lead with one or more developers matrixed for the completion of the project Provide technical over sight to multiple development initiatives Provide guidance and direction to less-seasoned staff Conduct technical trainings to broader technical audience Present and socialize business segment services and capabilities to senior leadership Evaluate and understand a variety of modeling and/or diagramming techniques, with the ability to create process flow diagrams and the ability read data flow and entity relationship models
Required Qualifications: Over all 3+ years of experience in big data coupled with 8 years overall IT experience 1+ years of experience in developing distributed computing systems applications such as: Hadoop, MapR, Hbase, Hive , Java/MapReduce, Datasynapse, Pig, Storm,Kafka,Flume,Sqoop, Cloudera & Hortonworks, high volume Java, J2EE & Database applications 1+ years of ETL experience preferably utilizing Talend 3+ years of experience troubleshooting performance issues, SQL tuning 1 + years experience with shell scripting using Unix, PERL or Python Experience with data base technologies such as: Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Netezza and GreenPlum 1+ years of experience job schedulers such as: TWS/d Bachelors degree (or higher) OR equivalent experienceCareers with Optum.
