Your high performance approach will power innovation, impacting the lives of millions.Primary ResponsibilitiesWork with the functional areas to generate key performance indicator (KPI) reporting to identify opportunities for improvement Develop Key Performance Indicators Dashboards Methodically explore the organization's data with an emphasis on statistical analytics Participate in gathering of detailed business, functional (e.g., reporting requirements, transactions) , and non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, scalability, capacity, data integrity) Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports and performance indicators to locate and correct problems Solve moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports Employ predictive analytics to run scenarios that will help guide future actions Seek opportunities to improve operating efficiencies and effectiveness Act as resource for othersCompetencies:Maintain awareness of best practices / approaches related to the business analysis discipline (e.g., Business Analysis of Knowledge) Skilled in Successfully Applying Methodology Skills (e.g., Agile Business Analysis, Six Sigma) Strong Business Analysis Skills (e.g., Specification and Documentation Skills) Excellent Facilitation and Elicitation Skills (Able to describe the nature of the data to be analyzed) Critical thinker who explores the relation of the data Ability to Create Visual Models to summarize an understanding of how the data is related Problem Solver who looks to prove (or disprove) the validity of the model The BA will generate required reports and work with each functional area to produce the requested information by specific deadlines Demonstrate and apply understanding of specific business capabilities, functions, processes and business cycles Ability to Work with Ambiguity All other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:4 or more years of experience analyzing data and statistical information Proficient with statistical business analytics (ie. KPI's, forecasting, and trending) Basic MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint skills Advanced Excel skillsPreferred Qualifications:Undergraduate degree Six Sigma Training (White, Yellow or Green Belt) Knowledge of complex database structures Experience with Structured Query Language, MS SQL Server, MySQL or other relational databases Basic Visio-process mapping and Basic SharePoint- data is sharedSoft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information to peers and managementCareers with Optum.
